Made chicken and rice (instead of noodle) soup today. Overall, the family critique was positive....except my son thought the soup was too bland. He would have liked more chicken and more spices.
So I did a quick web search on how to make chicken soup spicier...and I stumbled upon the Urban Dictionary (with the kids looking over my shoulder, of course). They couldn't stop laughing at the slang line "Spicier than Satan's Butt hole: Hotter than the heat from the Devil's Derriere."
Not sure this is a challenge I'm willing to take on...other suggestions are much appreciated!

ha, ha! love it! I'm not much of a "spicy" eater so I usually just add more onion and/or garlic. My other "go to" is to add bell peppers (yellow, orange, green and/or red). Both noodles & rice seem to absorb some of that flavor. Celery also seems to add a good taste. The only other thing I can think of is to marinate the meat (chicken, beef, pork) in non-fat zesty Italian dressing - that's my "go to" marinade for baking and barbeque.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work... only 361 days to go!! You can do it!
I love Mexican Chicken Rice Soup. It's spicier and I use my Mexican Rice recipe for the rice. Maybe that will be my soup of the week next week.....I'll start searching.....Kim
